Australian Aboriginal police tracker Barry Port has just retired from the Queensland police force after 33 years. His job for all those years was to find missing people. He learned the skills from from his father who also knew bushmen skills of noticing things that are not where they should be or are out of place.

Mr. Port’s story is an example of a person using his inferential skills to excel at his job. In this case, being able to infer helped Mr. Port to save lives.
