Have senior students watch Bruce Alcock’s 6 minute stop-animation film Vive la Rose and respond to the suite101 criticism that, “It’s a shame that Alcock’s visuals don’t match the song: the animation’s flowing lines and abstract visuals clash with the jittery stop-motion around it, creating too many focal points for the viewer to track.”

The film reviewer gave the film a 6/10. If you had the job of reworking the film, what might you do to impress this harsh critic and bump the film up to a 10/10? Alternatively, if you disagree with the review and see the film as excellent, justify your stance with reference to the work.
