Ali Velshi and Christine Romans have published, “How to Speak Money: The Language and Knowledge You Need to Know.” Velshi appears often on CNN as a financial advisor and his book provides an interesting perspective on money as a language. CNN also recently did a piece on “Financial Literacy at Ariel Academy” in Chicago. Each grade of students from one to eight is given $20,000 to invest. At the end of grade 8 the students have to pay back the money, return half of their profits to upgrade the school and then they can keep the rest. What a rich way to teach financial literacy.
