A few months ago I had the opportunity to visit a show of the top US kid’s Google Doodle entries. The artwork was amazing and it really made me want to take my class through the process. Google’s US website has an educator’s package with some handy tips.
Google offers the same competition in Canada with this year’s submission deadline ending on December 31st. http://www.google.ca/doodle4google/ Students in grades kindergarten to 12 in Canada redesign the logo for Google.ca homepage. This year’s theme has been “If I could invent anything, I would invent…”
The winning doodle is be featured on the Google Canada homepage for 24 hours. The winning student receives a $10,000 scholarship, a Google Chromebook, and a $10,000 grant to their current school along with a trip to Toronto to view a special exhibition of the top doodles at the Royal Ontario Museum in 2014.
