This video comes from Radiolab at New York Public Radio, WNYC 93.9 FM and AM820, wnyc.org which airs shows and podcasts on science, philosophy, and human experience. Radiolab’s podcasts are a wonderful classroom resource.

Have your students watch the video without talking. Have them watch it again and record one-word connections between each snippet of video. You may have to repeat the process a few times before students feel that they haven’t missed any connections. Have students break into pairs or threes and defend their inferences asking themselves, “Why might one image lead to the next?” If you are responding to and evaluation media texts try asking your students, “What do you think that the person who made this video meant to accomplish and justify why you think so.”
