Russian Beatbox Champion Vahtang is inspired by a young fan, Lera, who can make an intriguing birdsong with her voice. The two do an impromptu duet on the street and in so doing give us a wonderful look at two artists learning from and enjoying each other’s talents.

 

This performance is one of the most-watched videos in Russia. If you listen to some of Vahtang’s current beatboxing performances you can hear him quoting Lera’s beguiling birdsong vocalizations.

 

There’s a sophisticated interaction going on between the two which will no doubt inspire some conversation about oral communication with your students. You might want to play it for them and get them to infer what’s going on between Lera and Vahtang.
